Water Filters

Do any of you use a water filter? Either on your faucet, refrigerator, or the kind that are with a pitcher??

We have decided to STOP buying bottled water for various reasons but mainly because of the cost & the health effects that we have discovered the plastic can cause.

I need your opinions, recommendation, and experiences……..please share what filter you use and why, where you buy them, how much they cost you and ANY filters we should stay away from.

Friday’s Fast Frugal Tip

Recently, I was able to get TWO boxes of Dryer Sheets FREE so I thought it would be neat to see what I could do with the dryer sheets after I use them in the dryer….

*Use a dryer sheet to dust the TV

*Re-use your dryer sheet to clean your dry erase board

*Put a dryer sheet in the bottom of your waste container before you put in the plastic liner (to help with trash odor)

*Keep the dryer sheets you used in the dryer in your bathroom to rub on your hair when it is extra frizzy.

Do you have any frugal ideas for dryer sheets??

Haiti Update from Matt Woodhouse (Abundant Hope Ministries)

It has been a very busy 48 hours for us, but God is certainly moving, and bringing together ministries and individuals to assist the people of Haiti.

First, let me update you on some of today’s events.

This morning we were contacted by some precious saints in Texas who are connected with a small orphanage called Place of Hope. The orphanage is in Les Cayes, Haiti, which is about 100 miles from Port-Au-Prince.

Andre Forges founded Place of Hope orphanage. He himself was an orphan born and raised in Haiti. After his schooling he purchased 16 acres and founded Place of Hope orphanage. They currently minister to 42 children. The orphanage can only house 20 children. The other 22 come every day for food. The orphanage is poor, they have no chairs or tables, but they love the children, and want them to know the gospel / love of Jesus.

They had NO FOOD OR WATER, and there seemed no way that anyone was going to get to them any-time soon. Praise God, we have now arranged for 2 vehicles to leave tomorrow morning from PAP to try to get through to the orphanage. Thank you to Jorge Parrott for your help in putting this together.

Please pay that nothing would hinder this vital mission.

We have had 2 calls from Joseph (our man in PAP) in the past 48 hours, and we expect to hear from him later today. Joseph is documenting everything with photographs, and will return home to Charlotte on Sunday. He is doing well and working hard with 60 orphans that the group is helping plus the 2,000 that are with Pastor Victor in PAP.

We have already sent 2 batches of money (including gifts from Antioch International Church in SC & Highpoint Church in TX), and plan to send more by the end of the week. THANK YOU to all of you who have given through AHM or through other means.
